Financial Information

The Rescue Mission is registered with the Internal Revenue Service as a section 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, meaning that gifts are tax-deductible. We are also affiliated with the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability and the Association of Gospel Rescue Missions. We seek your confidence as well as your support as we reach out every day to the neediest of our neighbors with God’s help and hope.

The Central New York community is the major funding source for the Rescue Mission. From October 2009 through September 2010, our fiscal year, cash contributions, bequests, auto donations and store sales of donated items funded almost 80% of the organization’s budget.

In addition, the Rescue Mission also manages various federal, state and local government funds, which in fiscal 2009 provided almost 10% of our income.

During this economic downturn, the Rescue Mission, like other institutions, had investment losses in our portfolios that offset income from program fees and other miscellaneous sources as we continued our 24-hours-a-day, 365-days-a year ministry to the homeless, hungry and hurting of Central New York. For more specific financial information,
