    History

When the Rescue Mission’s original kitchen on the Gifford Street campus became too small to serve growing numbers of hungry people, plans were made for a new cooking and dining facility.

The Rescue Mission officially started work May 5, 1993, using a 9,000-square-foot building formerly used by Selco Graphics at 148 Gifford Street. It would replace the kitchen and dining room area that was modified to serve the Crossroads long-term supportive residence at 120 Gifford Street.

The Food Services Center was completed in time to serve the hungry of the community at Thanksgiving 1993.
