| The front door to the Rescue Mission for many needy people in our community, the New Life Day Center welcomes those who need food, clothing, shelter or a few minutes with a listening ear. In this daytime refuge from the storms of life, caring staff members provide help and hope to the homeless and mentally ill as they seek to encourage them to find God and new life. | ||
| The New Life Day Center, located in the Donald A. Dixon Homeless Intervention Services Center, 155 Gifford Street, Syracuse, and accessible through an entrance in the 100 block of Seymour Street, is a daytime mental health outreach program that provides basic needs for homeless and hurting people. Hours are 7 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. every day. | ||

| The New Life Day Center serves mentally ill, addicted and homeless adults who are at least 18 years old and free of alcohol and drugs when they enter. The individual’s needs are assessed to determine how he or she can best be served. | ||
| Interested people should come to the New Life Day Center entrance located in the 100 block of Seymour Street and talk to a staff member between 7 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. daily. | ||
| The Rescue Mission started a daytime center in 1973, when it was located in the 800 block of East Washington Street. After opening New York’s first sobering-up unit, it became evident there was a need to provide daytime activities for these men. | ||
