| Homelessness, addiction, debt, loneliness and failure can bring a man to the end of himself and to God. New Beginnings offers a caring, supportive environment where men can face their issues and prepare in practical and spiritual ways to transition back into the community. By looking up and realizing they’ve been given hope and a future, many men have found new beginnings. | ||

| New Beginnings was established as a 16-bed transitional housing program on the third floor of 155 Gifford Street in 1988 when a building once used by Gaylord Publishing Company was transformed into the Donald A. Dixon Homeless Intervention Services Center. The program grew to about 24 beds when it took over a section of the first floor until it was needed by an expanding emergency shelter. When New Hope Adult Home merged with Crossroads in 1997, New Beginnings took steps to occupy the entire third floor and eventually became a 34-bed facility. Following the 2007 opening of a nine-bed independent living program named Gifford Place on the west side of the third floor, New Beginnings beds totaled 22. With the addition of six more Gifford Place rooms, New Beginnings now has 16 beds. | ||
