| The Rescue Mission is more than a meal. But it often takes a meal served in God’s love to change a life. Feed someone’s stomach and you get the opportunity to feed their soul with the hope that life can get better. We’re here every day with breakfast, lunch and dinner because change can happen at any time. | ||
| The Clarence L. Jordan Food Services Center, 148 Gifford Street, Syracuse, named after a longtime Rescue Mission chief executive, prepares and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner every day in a clean and safe environment to the homeless and hurting of Central New York. | ||
| The Food Services Center provides meals free of charge to men in Rescue Mission programs and residences as well as needy men, women and children living in the community. On Thanksgiving and Christmas, volunteers help deliver meals to elderly shut-ins. | ||
| Hungry individuals and families are welcome to eat at the Food Services Center. Although meals are free, tickets are needed for admission. Community residents in need may obtain tickets for breakfast, lunch and dinner from the New Life Day Center, which is located off Seymour Street. (Transformations residents get tickets for breakfast at the shelter.) Community meal times are 7 to 7:45 a.m. for breakfast, 11 a.m. to noon for lunch and 4 to 4:45 p.m. for dinner. | ||
| When the Rescue Mission’s original kitchen on the Gifford Street campus became too small to serve growing numbers of hungry people, plans were made for a new cooking and dining facility. | ||
