Funding
The Rescue Mission is registered with the Internal Revenue Service as a section 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, meaning that gifts are tax-deductible. We are also affiliated with the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability and the Association of Gospel Rescue Missions. We seek your confidence as well as your support as we reach out every day to the neediest of our neighbors with God's help and hope.
The Central New York community is the major funding source for the Rescue Mission. From October 2005 through September 2006, our fiscal year, cash contributions, bequests, auto donations and store sales of donated items funded 76% of the organization’s budget.

In addition, the Rescue Mission also manages various federal, state and local government funds, which in fiscal 2006 provided 13% of our income.

Program fees, investment income and other miscellaneous sources provide the remainder of the income needed to provide our 24-hours-a-day, 365-days-a year ministry to the homeless, hungry and hurting of Central New York.

For more specific financial information, please see our 2006 annual report.
