Walk a Mile in My Shoes

Syracuse: Rescue Mission Recreation Center, 122 Dickerson Street

It’s often said we can only identify with someone when we walk a mile in their shoes. That’s the premise behind our one-mile winter walk.

If you live in or near Auburn, Binghamton or Syracuse, where the Rescue Mission provides services, here’s an opportunity for all of us to walk at the same time for our homeless neighbors.

The homeless are fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, sisters and brothers—people who need our help. Like a hot meal or refreshing shower, walking a mile is a small but important step to show we care.

For one day, for one mile, let’s walk a mile in the shoes of the homeless.
